How those boys got those grapes back up that rope ladder after raids on the neighboring vineyards I do not understand to this day, for there must have been nearly a bushel.  I really think the flavor of the grapes that grow about Canandaigua is not excelled by any I have ever tasted.  But as the winter waned I was again on my little crutches and my Mother had to take me away.  I was taken to a neighboring Water Cure at Clifton Springs where every mortal disorder was supposed to be cured by water administered both inside and out.  Here I was in a wheeled chair for several months and could not move at all and I remember the Doctors telling my Mother that she must entice me to walk or I would lose the use of my legs
