X Christmas of this year I went home to Chicago. Our family was still sharing the house of Dr Jones. The ruins of 140 Michigan Ave were still smouldering. It had been my Father's custom to lay in the stock of winter's coal during the summer, which was stored in the cellars. The brick walls having fallen over these piles of coal it continued burning most of the winter.
