were yesterday, and there were curtins at the window with a valence above, and portiers at the door all of the same blue as well as the bed spread and a valence around the bed. Father and Charlie went to the city daily while I watched the Farmers and was earning a little money drawing on wood for a Mr. Vandercook. Mostly commercial work machinery & c[[?]] from photographs. but I remember one drawing in which I took pride. It was the new Michigan Southern depot in perspective[[?]] and I worked several days on it earning I think five dollars for that drawing. My Father was trying to reestablish his business and pouring what capital he could realize into it, only to be all lost in the end. I have a note that on September 21st 72 he concluded the sale of a portion of that farm 320
