Dear Mc;-

A few years ago,I did an interesting series of studies of textile workers for Sidney Blumenthal,(President of Shelton Looms,) who is noted for as rational attitude on labor as most good employers can have in present system,I hope,— and I am thinking of asking him to be a sponsor. One reason being that, some day with the proper approach,he might be willing to contribute something toward floating our enterprise until it gets off the rocks. I know his private sec'y personally and Sidney himself pretty well,—but he has told me that he cannot follow my "persuasive tongue" too far. However,—— what-would-you-do?

Tom Tippett, with whom I worked very closely on Nat.Research Proj. the first half of last year,—heard of my situation so he ups'and writes to Henry Allen Moe,whom he knows very well, having written a book on his miner's life (Horseshoe Bottom) for the Fund. It sounds plausible to me and didn't leave much left for anyone else to write when it is hitched up to what(B.A.)(you) and O.L. sent in. Lydenberg,Dir.N.Y.Pub.Lib., wrote recently that Moe had asked him for opinions and he had given the best he was capable of. B.N.hasn't said whether "they" would let him be a sponsor. I have jacked him up again.

After your first question mark re.getting Alex.King to sponsor, I asked W.Morgan and he seemed to think it was worth getting,—so I sent a note to him,— just rec'd reply from his sec'y who is good friend of me. I guess we're in for putting him in somewhere and maybe they'll come thro.

Paul Harris,Director,The Des Moines Association of Fine Arts, sounds well,—as will Philip Youtz,Consultant & Director,Golden Gate Inter.Expo. ( if he consents,— he always does.),and me—friend Dr. Adams of Albany.

I swear,to high heaven, that if you live through the next six weeks, I'll never-never ask you to do anymore extras on my behalf. If I cant float by that time,-let-'er-sink, sez-I.

Ever- L-

Sara thinks A.C.Langmuir,a neighbor & friend, who is known as donor of a thousand dollar annual prize for achievements in chemistry and also as brother of the great Irving Langmuir,Nobel winner, etc., might be a help as sponsor. He has done a deal in documentary photo-ing himself. Or are we just cluttering up the front page of catalog needlessly? A postal on Sid. B- as well as A.C.L., some time please.
