Dear Mc C;-

You know I wouldn't add a single one to your box of troubles but I think this point is significant. In the first flush of appreciation,Willard Morgan told me that he was sure Edward Steichen would like my stuff. The other day I asked Morgan if it would be better for him to write E.S. about sponsoring our Big Show or for me,-and he thought I better do it. On second thot, it seemed to me a bit presumptious to burst in on him, after what little he has seen, except for Ellis Island, when W.M. is in so much better position to convert him. Also, I think it would be better for Morgan to be given some responsibility for the show. ( This is just between us,of course.) I suppose the reason I did not get a chance at U.S.Camera, '39 was that it is more current but I still feel that I should not back out of the live-ones into the limbo of the past, too fast,- at least judging from what came out in the Sunday Times roto to-day.

Also, you said Photo League would help mount the prints,- is it possible that their name would lend a bit of backing or prestige or something if they could be the group sponsor,- I'm jest eskin' .

I think it will be necessary to use some of my barrel of enlargements and a lot of 5 x 7 & 4-5's also 8 x 10's, simply because I'm not likely to have much time to run out new stuff. Morgan offered,in a moment of out-loud thinking, to have the Quarterly make some big-ones as its share of publicity in a hypothetical exhibit we were discussing before the Riv.Mus. came into the picture, and I spoke of it to him later. I feel that you have so much more inflooence there, but if you prefer I'll go to bat with him on all these matter.

Shall be kept at home, most of the time,- C- is being pre-
