Mr. N. B. Johnson, President
National Congress of American Indians
Claremore, Oklahoma

Dear President Johnson:

My organization has recently been contacted by Mrs. Eva Nichols, President of the Black Hills Council, regarding the obtaining of our services to promote and help with the publicity of a National Congress convention that is reputedly going to be held in Rapid City some time during September of this year.

This letter is simply to verify the convention site and to find out from you the exact dates of the convention to be held in this city. We would also appreciate receiving any further information you may be able to send us regarding the festivities that are to take place during the convention here.

I am thinking some of doing a large scale promotion job on a mass powwow which would feature dances by members of every Indian tribe in the United States and Alaska. It has also been suggested that we promote in conjunction with your convention a national Indian beauty pageant similar in scope to the Miss America beauty pageant held each year at Atlantic City, New Jersey.

I will sincerely appreciate your prompt reply and all the information you might send regarding your convention.

Respectfully yours,

Gerald E. Tiffany
