Fair-Ground Hospital

Requests information in regard to the sound from which Coffins are to be obtained to bury the dead Freed-people from this Hospital

Respectfully forwarded to Bvt Col. A.G Bready Supt Central Dist NC, I not being able to give the information requested I most respectfully and earnestly recommend that measures be at once instigated to furnish not only the dead people at the Hospital with Coffins, but all dead  Freedpeople in this Sub-District whose relatives are unable to furnish them. The Post Quarter-Master not being able to furnish these people with coffins; we have had to improvise them by pulling down fences, Un-roofing houses etc. But this kind of

material is now exhausted and I recommend that hereafter these coffins be furnished in a legitimate manner.
