Dear Tryon:
After my charming outing in the mountains, I returned to Detroit and was at once tossed into the whirl of politics on my partner Mr. Hecker’s account, from which I have emerged this morning a sadder but I hope a wiser man.
I have to-day dropped a line to Dewing suggesting that you and he come to Detroit and time after the 25th inst., when I hope to have enough rooms in the house ready for occupancy can begin housekeeping a day or two before your arrival.
When I left the mountains, I felt capable to undertake almost any sort of work, but to-day I feel like the small boy, much in need of a vacation. Yourself and Mrs. Tryon are very well I trust.
With cordial greetings, I remain,
Yours faithfully,
C. L. Freer

Mr. L. T. Tryon,
South Dartmouth, Mass.
