ACROSS FROM San Miguel CHURCH ON COLLEGE STREET

TELEPHONE 147W

SANTA FE, N.M.

Sorry to disappoint you but you have not escaped death at the hands, feet or teeth of a Nino de La terra but by a whip tail scoppion Escorpion, which I understand is Very rare and not [[strikeout]] poinsoious.[[/strikeout]] poisonous.

And your friend Hoffenstein has married a boy 25 years old named Gerald Breckenridge and not much money. A writer of some little success. Edward Donahoe has just come from Los Angeles and he guesses that the marriage might last a few months.

I cannot tell you how much fun it was having you and la Chica here. It made a new person of me and I do hope you will be able to come back this way. Please try. If you cannot come through here and if you would like to come to Santa fe for a few days or a week or a year before returning to New York, I will drive up to Colorado and bring you here. As Juanita says,"I do not want to cause nobody no trouble," but it would make me happy to see a little more of you.

Hope you got through the border with no trouble and that the trip is continuing to be great fun. Best to both of you, y Hasta la Vista.
