Dear Betty,

I am so sorry to learn that my miracle cures turned out not to be. Awful that you should be ill.

Wrote you the following yesterday, but to the wrong hotel: Mme Bove called. The Hebrard collection does not after all exist in photographs at Versailles but she knows of a first-rate photographer who she will get in touch with. This may cost you more than the amateur I had in mind (there isn't a prayer that the Hebrard family would shell out one centime) but she thought, and I imagine you would agree, that it is important to get the best possible photographs to show.

So I will track down Grregoire Triet (the heir you met) when he gets back to town to get as much information as I can and Mme Bove will get hold of the photographer. She wanted me to stop by to see her about all this and I'll try this weekend--although I've got a lot of work and am not sure it's possible--so that I can if necessary get in touch with you should there be any questions before you leave for NY.

I will in any case call to see how you are. Night before last there was the most super sunset, and such stars! Sorry you missed it.

Best to you,
Mary
