for first second or third class and no majority vote for third class was rejected. It was also announced that the Artist of Chicago invited the Society to a Banquet the following evening. Then we adjourned to the Art Institute. When I heard of a Banquet I began to get frightened knowing that a speech would be expected from me and that I could not do. One of our members from Cincinnati (Mr Farny) who is a very fine speaker had not arrived so I hurried off a telegram to him to be sure and come and shortly after I received an answer that he was on his way. The members from the other cities had all good speakers but we from Cincinnati. Mr Meakin Barnhorn and I were not so we were glad [[strikethrough]] that [[/strikethrough]] when Mr Farny arrived.
