and the misunderstandings arising out of different interpretations of the same rules require that the clauses of the constitution should be very carefully considered and drawn, as the duties of the executive committee are otherwise greatly multiplied.  Certain clauses of the present Article 5 necessarily need more careful definition as it makes it absolutely obligatory on the Society to hold an exhibition in each of the centers represented, whether the local committee has been able to make satisfactory arrangements or not, and might involve under certain eventualities our Society in ruinous expenses.

It would be advisable, also, in this connection, to have the Society incorporated and prevent the necessary individual liability which its present Board Officers necessarily incur.  The clause concerning the election of members ought to be revised, owing to the difficulties attending the present system of requiring a three-fourths favorable vote of the entire membership of the Society.  It will be seen that the possible absence of one or more members abroad, or such as might be incapacitated by serious illness, might defeat the election of desirable members, as the absence of their votes
