xxx "When I left Venice I had about concluded to go to Rome & expected Ross would accompany us - however when I got here I found Duocueck and about 15 of the boys (Americans all) were going to Florence. We met him and three of the boys on their way there The evening we came up from Innsbruck of course his going left the class behind here rather unsettled xxx so they have decided to go to Florence where D. has promised to take charge of them as before"
(I find in another letter that we met D. & the boys in Rosenheim (where we had to change cars) on Oct 5. - One of the boys was John Alexander - don't find the names of the others & have forgotten who they were)
