LIEBES: There is so much talent here, Miss craig, that there is no excuse for manufacturers using bad art in the design of their fabrics, wall papers and so on. I've just come back from Greensboro, Carolina, where I was one of the Judges of the International Textile contest at the University of Carolina....and I was not surprised to find the great talent I did in that very interesting contest.

CRAIG: Do tell us about it........what were the young people designing---------did their work show any special trend?

LIEBES:

CRAIG: You've always taken a lively interest in the work of other artists, designers and craftsmen............I remember reading of yourfine [your fine] achievement in assembling exhibits of various artists for Decorative Arts Building of the Golden Gates Exposition in San Francisco............and I also saw your exhibit at the New York World's Fair.........

LIEBES: Those were interesting and illuminating experiences. In order to get the collections together, I went to every state in the Union to find the best art craft of each state, and became acquainted with hundreds of artists and craftsmen all over the country, and I have always maintained close contact with them.
