Dear Beatrice:

As you can see, I've done a little reconnoitering, and Dr. Pope of the Smithsonian has come up with what I consider a marvelous idea. Perhaps this doesn't appeal to you, but it does very much to me.

First of all, I think we are simpatico in color and feeling for design. Second, we're both Californians, and you will admit that Californians have a certain quality; whether people say regionalism doesn't exist and matter, I'm sure it does.

I think this would be a marvelous idea. The Smithsonian traveling shows go to the best museums. We'd have to arrange to part with our things for quite a long time. You may want to add things from home; since this is an American show, I think some of your bigger pots would look well with my fabrics. My fabrics would certainly be enhanced by them.

Let me know as soon as you can what you think of the idea. In the meantime, give my best to any one whom I know over there, particularly Mrs. Jayakar and others connected with the Emporium.

Best to you always and a happy holiday time wherever you are. Did you get my letter with the little cheque? It's meant to be a little Christmas present for Beatrice.

Love,

Dorothy Liebes
