We spent several days in the London galleries, the Tate, the British Museum, and the Kensington Museum which particular interests me because of its collection of decorative arts.

Then, by train, from London to Prague, via Ostend and Carlsbad. In Prague, Helen busied herself all day in the Czech glass factories on her mission for Corning. I explored the byways of the ancient city and took short trips into the mountains. I also visited the glass works which were just beginning to abandon the traditional Czech forms and, largely influenced by modern architecture, move into newer designs. They were interesting and like virtually everything I was seeing then, they gave me ideas for fabric designs.
