At about this time, another educational experience developed when Mrs. Statler invited me to lecture at a seminar for hotel personnel at Cornell University. I discussed the aesthetics and the practicalities in fabrics used in hotels, bedspreads, rugs, draperies and upholstery. Then I could have gone on about my business but I became interested in the operations of hotels and stayed at Cornell a week learning all I could about them.
