During that week, we lunched several times in the little restaurant near Pat's office and sat in the afternoon sunshine sipping cocktails in the sidewalk cafes on the Champs Elysees. In the Louvre he took me through the Egyptian section which I had never seen, or rather, had never really looked at. In the Orangerie, I taught him a few things about Van Gogh's style of painting. All too soon, the time came for me to leave for London. I planned to spend about 10 days there and in Scotland where I had appointments to visit a number of tweed mills. We had a last (we thought) dinner together on a Saturday night and finished the evening in Suzy Solidor's amusing little cabaret.
