the King through their mutual interest in fine horses. The main section was a Throne Room. We wove a red-and-gold design for the throne itself and used the same color scheme, but with different weaves, for the bed and chairs. The window curtains were woven from fine reeds, interlaced with bands of aluminum. I often wonder where the royal vehicle is today and what stories my fabrics could tell.

Two schools engaged my interest. Michelle Murphy, curator of textiles at the Brooklyn Museum, persuaded me to go on the Advisory Board of the Rhode Island School of Design. This was one of the finest textile schools in the Northeast. Today it no longer has the courses in weaving and textile machinery, which is a pity, but they are to be found in Philadelphia and the great textile centers of the South. The other school, was on unusual institution which convened once
