Mr. David Anderson
Martha Jackson Gallery
32 East69th Street
New York, New York 10021

Dear David:

I am indeed sorry that our desperate financial situation forces me to send the enclosed bills to you for payment. While I am confident of your understanding and sympathy, it would have been my pleasure to be able to cover the expenses that we incurred for the James Brooks Retrospective Exhibition.

I was pleased to learn that you have extended the time of the James Brooks* Exhibition. We are close at Finch Museum on June 8th and we have arranged for Guild Hall to pick up the show on June 12th. Will they be able to stop at Martha Jackson that same day to pick up the six paintings that are traveling with the show?

I want to use this opportunity to thank you and Becky for the gracious evening at your home. Please convey my special thanks to Becky. I have been so busy trying to dispose of our permanent collection, that I have not had the opportunity to personally thank her.

My sincerest personal regards.

Sincerely,

EV/jmk Elayne Varian
