Mr. Robert H. Luck, Curator
The Contemporary Wing
The Finch College Museum of Art
62-64 East 78th Street
New York, New York, 10021

Dear Mr. Luck:
Thank you for your letter of May 28, Requesting the loan of our painting for your forthcoming JAMES BROOKS exhibition.
Mrs. Kohl and I would be most pleased to lend Gordian for the exhibition, and are honored that Mr. Brooks has requested our painting.
We are concerned, however, about the possible extended tour of the exhibition, and the length of time the painting will be gone. We shall certainly lend to you and to Cranbrook, but we would like to know the other possible two institutions and the dates of their showings before we commit the painting for the entire traveling circuit.
Jack Taylor, whom both Mr. Brooks and Harold Hart know, has advised me that Gordian should be provided with a protective backing over the stretcher frame before being shipped. Is this a cost that you will also assume?

Sincerely,
Sidney Kohl
