Mrs. Harrison Fischer
748 Fifth Avenue
Port Arthur, Texas

Dear Mrs. Fischer:

Thank you so much for your letter of April 29th. Robert Rauschenberg has,as you must know, become a very important painter, and is at present in Paris where a one-man show of his work is being held at the Daniel Cordier gallery. I think it would be out of the question at the moment to promise you a one-man show, as his works is mostly on exhibition or in private collections. If you are planning a group show, please let us know the date and we will then be able to let you know what might be available.

Rauschenberg's work was shown at the Museum of Modern Art (11 West 53rd Street, New York 19, N.Y.) a year ago in their [[underlined]]Sixteen Americans[[/underlined]] exhibition, and a catalogue showing works of his and giving biographical data, and so on, is available through the Museum at about one dollar a copy. If your library does not have the publication, and if you are interested, you could secure it from the Modern Museum.
