[[handwritten]] How do you feel about being considered a pop artist? [[handwritten]]

Ques: Roy, people call you a pop artist, and this is supposed to mean a lot of things these days, and without talking about the work and about the way you feel about everything, what is your attitude toward all of this?
Roy: Well, I don't think I mind being called a pop artist. I think that...it's a name that will stick regardless of what later names are given to it. I think that...it's...it reflects the feeling of the kind of work I do, and I don't think it fits everyone who...all of the artists who come under the cover of 'pop' or who are called 'pop.' But I think it [[strikethrough]]feels[[/strikethrough]] fits me fairly well. And I don't mind at all being called that. I think that we're living in a society that, to a large extent, is 'pop'. I think it's one of the facets of...of our society, and it's one of the facets of present society which is new, and one of the facets that hasn't existed before.  And I think in that way ...it is...the name is somewhat significant. I think, I don't know what else one could call the art. It's been called new realism, various other things, but I think they...those names apply better to other...modes of art than the kind of art that I do.
Ques:...You love getting into your own art. Could you explain that a little bit, and what differences do you feel there are?
