Dear Mrs. Tremaine:

I am currently producing a series of television programs on modern art, and am now planning one on The New Realism or Pop Art. This will be completely serious program to be shown over the metropolitan area on March 24, 1964, and will be hosted by Henry Geldzahler of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Channel 13 is an educational non-profit organization, and the program will not be used in any commercial way. One of the guests on the program will be Roy Lichtenstein, and I would very much like to use a reproduction, which I have, of your picture "I Can See the Whole Room and There's Nobody In It" as an important example of his work.

I would be most grateful if you would give me your permission to do this. Thanking you in anticipation,

Yours sincerely,
