The aim of this society is to develop the agriculture of the State of Louisiana by means of the Freedmen. To afford them aid, assistance and counsel, by the means of loans of money or of other objects, by means of education and the diffusion of useful information, and by such other means as the needs and requirements of the Freedmen may, in the judgement of the Association, demand.

The aid, co-operation and assistance of all Freedmen's Associations in other States of this Union are respectfully solicited. All persons desirous of information in regard to the operations of this society and of what is now needed to carry on this good work, designed to rescue Louisiana from the ravages of war and renovate her soil by free labor, will address the Corresponding Secretary of the Company.
