Dear. Sir.
I have taken the liberty to address You. Our early associations being such. led Me be to think you would receive my letter favorably. And do what you could in assisting Me. I was mustered out of the service on the 3rd of July. The buisness I was engaged in previous to My Enlistment. A Whole Sale Boot. and Shoe House. failed last January, Which deprived Me of a situation. I expected on My arrival home from the Army. buisness is very dull at present. in Chicago. being out of Employment, I would very much like to obtain a situation under the Government to go South. to any Point And would request Your assistance. I thought in Your bureau. They might be some vacancy
