I regard Rev John H Haywood of Louisville as an excellent man - if his other duties will allow his attention to another duty -

Capt T E Hall is engaged - chiefly engrossed in iron and oil speculation - does not expect to work for freedmen only incidentally. He told me so He desires freedom but he intends to make money

This his friends regard as his passion

You will see in him excetive talent - a prejudice against Gen Fry of this post, who threw out those women & children under an order from Gen Thomas

I do say Fry was guiltless

You will see in Capt Hall a [[venerating?]] of himself

"A man warned is doubly armed"
