[[stamp]] THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF THE UNITED STATES [[/stamp]]

The comd'g. Officers of Battery "K" 4th U.S. Artill., and the 3rd N.J. Battery, will forward to these Hd. Qrs. applications for furloughs for 25 days for Sergt. John McTaggar and Private William Schultz respectively.  These furloughs will be approved at the Hd. Qrs. under the provisions of G.O. No. 4.  Hd. Qrs. A. of P.c.s.  These men above mentioned, on the examination of the Bvt. Lieutt. Col. Comd'g. proved themselves to be the most soldierly and to have the best Knowledge of their duties, taking rank into consideration, of any that presented themselves.
