we all rejoice that the war is over, Still we ought not to feel that there is nothing more to do. I feel that there is more to do - more that I am able to do - therefore I offer my services as teacher, to go South wherever I am sent without a salary, except enough to defray my necessary expenses.

I can give you references from Judge Bacon, the Hon Roscoe Conkling, and other leading Union men in our city.

I am so anxious to be engaged in this great work, that the disappointment in not being successful in obtaining a situation would indeed be great on my part.

It may be too early in the season to go on at present, if so, any time during the fall would answer.
