Boxes of Clothing should be marked "NORTHWESTERN FREEDMAN'S AID COMMISSION, 109 Monroe St., Chicago, Ills." The name of the place from which each box comes, should be plainly marked upon it. Duplicate invoices of contents should be made-one copy to be placed in the box, and the other to be sent by mail to "Rev. J.R. SHIPHERD, Cor. Sec., P.O. Box, 2747, Chicago, Ill." All Moneys and ALL Correspondence should be addressed to the Corresponding Secretary as as above.

Enough has already accrued to us of observation, reports from the field & mathematical calculation, to make it plain that the withdrawal of rations from teachers and field agents will reduce our efficiency materially. The cost of maintaining teachers will be doubled, or nearly so: and unless we can double our income, the only alternative will be to close one half our schools. 
On the other hand, too, the demand for  additional laborers is far greater than ever before. To occupy even the most important and inviting localities now opening, and to maintain our present force, without the ration,
