Janesvill O June 16/65 Genl OO Howard} Freedmens Bureau Dear sir I discover from the journals, that you returned to these homes all loyal refugees. There is one family in our city who would be very much pleased to return to their old house in South Carolina The family consists of two women and five children. One woman is a widow the other has a husband who was conscripted into the rebel army and was captured by union forces & imprisoned. His wife does not know where he is. They have property in S Carolina that happened to be in Shermans path and everything in the shape of building was destroyed They display an ardent attachment for the union and have no doubt as to their loyalty. Yours truly Alexander Sullivan
