I have some gloomy accounts of affairs, but hope as soon as matters are properly organized, that there will be an improvement.

I regret I did not meet Col. Fullerton before he left.  Having returned with renewed strength to my duties, I hope in the course of time to work out results which may not be discreditable to the Freedmen's Bureau.
