Esther McCoy

Esther McCoy is the author of Five California Architects, a study of pioneers of the modern movement. Her articles on architecture have appeared in Arts & Architecture, Evergreen Review, Zodiac, L'Architettura and others. magazines. She has helped organize several traveling architectural exhibitions and written catalogue on Felix Candela, Irving Gill and "Roots of California Contemporary Architecture." During the war she worked as an engineering draftsman at Douglas Aircraft Co., then spend two years in the drafting room of R.M. Schindler. Her fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, Harper's Bazaar and literary quarterlies.
