Esther McCoy, on the editorial advisory board of Arts & Architecture magazine, has contributed articles on subjects ranging from early California modern design to Mexican contemporary architecture. She has watched the unfolding of the Case Study House program from its beginning. 
She is The author of Five California Architects, which told the story of the West Coast's pioneers of modern design, and Neutra, of the Masters of World Architecture series. 
Her articles on architecture have also appeared in Western [[strikethrough]] Coast [[/strikethrough]] Architect and Engineer, Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians, Evergreen Review and various university quarterlies. She visits Italy each year and is known there for her contributions to Zodiac and L'Architettura. In 1962 she was decorated by the Italian Republic with the Stella della Solidarieta for her many articles on Italian decorative arts. She has also written on the architecture and crafts of Brazil, Guatemala, Yucatan and Israel.
She helped to organize several traveling architectural exhibitions and wrote catalogue on [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] Felix Candela, Irving Gill, and Roots of California Contemporary Architecture.
