MW---[[strikethrough]] How was Neutra? [[/strikethrough]] What do you think was the change of Neutra's style? You were saying in Schindler's case it was [[strikethrough]] more like [[/strikethrough]] the economy--that it almost forced him to change in style and look for something else.
EM--[[strikethrough]]It [[/strikethrough]] Not almost-- it did. Yes, it did definitely.
MW--- Do you think that it was the same in the Neutra's case?
EM--- In a larger sense, but not in the smaller things because he didn't strive for such [[strikethrough]] little [[/strikethrough]] low cost.
MW--- Yes, that was the point I was going to make. Because it seems to me that Neutra's post war houses were more expensive, using the huge glass screens... And using more expensive materials--stone wall etc.
EM---True.
Schindler [[strikethrough]]had not... He made fun of Neutra for his [[/strikethrough]] did not like the soft pink stone, [[strikethrough]] it was [[/strikethrough]] an Arizona flag stone, that Neutra used. [[strikethrough]]sometimes. And [[/strikethrough]] Schindler [[strikethrough]]liked that in [[/strikethrough]] used a stone in the Toole house, in Palm Desert, with what he called leopard spots. Then he also had a rougher stone, a bouquet canyon stone, he used in other houses [[strikethrough]] Schindler did,[[/strikethrough]] because he did not like [[strikethrough]] a soft pink [[/strikethrough]] pastel stone. If he were going to use stone, he wanted it to be very expressive. The Kallis is [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] one [[strikethrough]] that has [[/strikethrough]] with the Bouquet canyon.
MW--- Now I want to talk about what you call the Second Generation, because your book about them [[strikethrough]]Second Generation [[/strikethrough]] is now published. And for this generation,
I think most of the Japanese readers---
EM--- They don't know them.
MW---No, so could you give them some brief introduction to those people.
Yes, They are Davidson, Harris, Ain, and Soriano.
EM--- Yes, It is a misnomer in this respect. Davidson was older than Neutra. He arrived in California before Neutra. He's there because there is no other convenient place to put him, and I wanted to write about him.
Both Ain and Harris were in the Neutra office. So they are definitely second generation. Oh, also Soriano was in the Neutra office. And so, they stem from Neutra, but [[strikethrough]] disclaimed him. Harris disclaims him by his way of building. Ain disclaims him by dislike him Neutra, because Neutra was unfair in the office. [[/strikethrough]] did not follow him for long.

Transcription Notes:
There's a double strikethrough on that last sentence, should it be annotated?
