Dear Mrs. Tremaine,

I am a doctoral student from Germany researching my dissertation on the artist James Rosenquist. For your information I am enclosing my curriculum vitae.

My dissertation will include a catalogue raisonné of Rosenquist's work and I sincerely appreciate information on any work by the artist that may or may have been in your collection. The archives of the Leo Castelli Gallery indicate that the painting Hey Let's Go For a Ride, of 1961 belongs to your collection. I would be very grateful to you if you could send me a slide or a photograph of your works, as well as material you might have on them such as provenance, date of acquisition and references to where they have been exhibited, reproduced and discussed. Should there be any expense for you to send me these documents I would gladly reimburse you.

I would also be very grateful for any suggestions you might have on other collections that may include work by the artist. I would like to emphasize that any information derived is not intended for publication without your expressed permission and the owner's name will remain confidential, if you so wish.

I would very much appreciate your help as such information will be most important for my dissertation. I wish to thank you in advance for your time and consideration on my behalf.

Yours sincerely,
