Dear Jack:

I have been apprised of an article by C. Greenberg in the most recent Partisan Review. My name was used in relation to several points, some good, some foolish. For the interest and favorable attitude I wish to give you and your spouse major credit. Therefore, thanks.

May I add that I wish he had never seen my work or heard of it?

I hope you have a good winter and got through the work you desired to do. My own has been not without some good moments, so I am feeling better than I should. I may be out in a few weeks, and will drop in when I get in that vicinity.

Best of everything to you both, and a good year ahead.
