Dear Ed:

I am enclosing a paper with some observations which seem to me pertinent for approaching the work I do. That pigment and canvas on a rectangular stretcher have a way of setting up a conventional reaction for most people goes without reminder. It is to avoid this obvious trap that the metaphors and objections are set down. One can use mathematics to measure land,- it can also be used in more esoteric and profound ways by those who are able. Often the symbols or actions seem very close, superficially.

It is because you are one of those who have insight into more exciting levels of thought and feeling that I take the liberty sending you this condensation. As for the affirmative evidence I can only take recourse in the painting. In this you have found factors which I know bring you exceptionally close to the experiences I would have you share.

Drop me a card one of these days when you can have lunch with me, and we'll meet at the foot of these extra long stairs. Best regards,
