Dear Dorothy Miller:
Inasmuch as I will be leaving New York soon for a visit to the West Coast I will not be present when the pictures of the "Fifteen Americans" are taken down. Therefore I am using this opportunity to thank you and the Museum of Modern Art for your cooperation in exhibiting seven of my paintings. Even within the limits set by the Museum as its responsibility, I feel that the room containing my pictures eminently realizes several of the broader implications of my work. I trust that in time you will be justly rewarded for this gesture.

As for the dispersal of the paintings at the end of the show, the one belonging to Mr. Alfonso Ossorio is to be returned to him at whatever address he provides.

All of the remaining six, without exception, are to be returned to my studio at 48 Cooper Square, New York City. Instructions for rolling the two largest pictures are enclosed herewith.

Thanking you again for a most interesting, enlightening, and encouraging association, I remain,

Most Sincerely yours,

s/ Clyfford Still
