Mr. W. L. Brownell
466 Lexington Ave.
New York City

Dear Mr. Brownell:

I am extremely bewildered by a slow freight charge of $69.19 I received for shipping 300 lbs of paintings to Clyfford Still, California Palace of the Legion of Honor, Lincoln Park, San Francisco, California. As I understood that the charge was $7.50 a hundred pounds, I do not understand the charge of $69.19. I am sure this is a mistake. Will you please verify the matter and let me know at your earliest convenience.
I have paid this under protest, and am making an application for proper refund. The freight bill number is 66610 and the shipping agent is 2193. Please let me hear from you concerning this as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Betty B. Parsons
