SUBJECT: "30 Contemporary Black Artists"
TO: The artist and lenders to the exhibition.
FROM: Nina Kaiden/Caroline Lerner

"30 Contemporary Black Artists" opened at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts at a preview reception attended by 700 persons on Wednesday evening, October 16th. It was a distinguished event for the museum, and a triumph for the exhibition. The guest list represented members of the press, of the Minneapolis art work. of the University of dozens of community groups, of business, and of the city government. And the pleasure of all was a delight to share.

We have recently supplied voluminous material on all the artists in the exhibition to the author of a book on art by American Negroes, which will be published next year by Reinhold & Company.

Attached is a catalogue of the exhibition, an itinerary, and one of the major stories which appeared in the Minneapolis newspapers.
