Memorial For Artist Charles White Set

 A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 25, 1979 at 3:00 PM for the eminent Chicago artist, Charles White, in the galleries of the South Side Community Art Center, 3831 South Michigan Avenue.

 Mr. White who passed in Altadena, California on October 3, was one of the founders of the South Side Community Art Center. He attended elementary and high school in Chicago were he also worked on the Federal Arts Project (W.P.A.). Charles White, a leading American artist, has shown in numerous major art exhibitions in the United States as well as abroad. Well known as a lecturer, for the past several years he has be Professor of Art at Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles.

 All friends and appreciators are invited to be present at the Memorial and to share their remembrances of the dynamic artist.

  An Art Materials Scholarship Fund in his memory is being set up by the Art Center and his friends. Through it, art materials will be provided free to needy art students. Paintings and prints by Charles White owned by private collectors as well as a selection of his recent prints will be shown.
