RICHARD SERRA
September 26 - October 17, 1987

On Saturday, September 26th, 1987, three new sculptures by Richard Serra will be presented by Leo Castelli at his 142 Greene Street gallery. The works include a two plate vertical prop (STEELY POINT) and a double corner plates (CORNERED). These two sculptures are stabilized solely by means of weight and pressure, gravity or balance. The third work is two 45 feet long double tilted curve plates (MY CURVES ARE NOT MAD) which, like similar curved pieces by Serra in the past, alters the viewer's perception of the space it occupies. The Leo Castelli Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 6 pm.

Simultaneously, the Pace Gallery at 32 East 57th Street will be showing eight wall props and four drawings by Serra, also from 1987. The Pace Gallery show will continue through October 24th. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.
