Dear Elizabeth McCausland:

This envelope was addressed to you with the string in it for your beads the day befor [[before]] I had the letter from you —

The house is very quiet now except for the wind — Every one is gone. I am alone with Margaret. — Last night friends on their way to town spent the night with me and as far as I know I can sit here now by myself.

The quiet seems wonderful — I fuss around as tho I am starting to work and do not start — but maybe when I have fussed long enough I will finally start.

I seem to be feeling much better — think some time alone should help every thing
