Dear J.S. Carter, Frank Gunter, Robert Reid:

The exhibition "Six American Painters, 3 & 3" is now at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Besançon which is one of the most prestigious museum in France. I am pleased to tell you that the show is a real success. It ends July 2nd and will be next presented at the Musée of Tourcoing in the northern France. It should begin around September 5 and remain there for a month or so. Then it is scheduled in Caen, in Normandy, at the Maison de la Culture, as a major art event during an international cultural fortnight. Of course, it will stay in Caen at least a month. And by the end of the year, it should go South but I'll have to let you know about these plans later on as no firm commitments have yet been taken.

I send you enclosed an article from Besançon which shows you the considerable interest raised by the show. It was a pity you could not attend the opening as you would have enjoyed the atmosphere and the superior quality of the museum; you are in the middle of masterpieces!

With warmest regards,

Sincerely,

Hélène Baltrusaitis
