Despite the importance of politics today, most artists are too absorbed in the fascinating variations of contemporary modernism to pay any attention to the reform of society. They content themselves with reforming vision which is in itself a large order. At the Alonzo Gallery, Robert Reid makes letters fly through the air in well-arranged compositions that combine the visual with the poetic. Shirley Greenberg uses the letter "R" to obtain the darkest darks and the lightest lights ever seen. Shozo Nagamo plays interesting tricks with the illusionistic aspect of vision. One artist, Marty Kalb, reveals the harsh truth
