"30 Contemporary Black Artists" was organized for the Minneapolis Institute of Arts by Ruder and Finn Fine Arts, which is now sponsoring the show's national tour. Since its inauguration in Minneapolis, the collection has been shown at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, Ga.; the Flint Institute of Arts, Flint, Mich., and the Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, N.Y. Later it will be shown at the Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, R.I.; the Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester, N.Y.; the San Francisco Museum of Art, San Francisco, Calif., and the Contemporary Arts Association, Houston, Texas.

Space limitations at the IBM Gallery required that each artist be limited to one work, and in some cases to works on a smaller scale than those previously shown. We are grateful to al lenders to the exhibition, and thank Peter Bradley, Emilio Cruz, Melvin Edwards, Robert Gordon, Daniel LaRue Johnson, Raymond Saunders and Thomas Sills for graciously permitting substitutions for this particular showing.
