Johnson, President National Congress of American Indians Justice, The Supreme Court Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Dear Justice Johnson: I wish to thank you for your letter of June 15th inviting me to attend the Eighth Annual Convention of the National Congress of American Indians which is to be held July 24-27 at the Lowry hotel in St. Paul. I am most grateful for the honor you've extended me and I deeply regret that I am unable to accept your invitation. As you know, the Congress does not plan to recess during the summer and the month of July will be a very busy one for us. Therefore, I have had to cut my speaking engagements to a minimum. May I ask you to express my greetings to the delegates. Again my thanks for this invitation and my appreciation for your words of commendation and support. Sincerely yours, Hubert H. Humphrey cc: Mrs. Ruth M. Bronson
