Mr. Ed M. Wilson,
President, Tribal Executive Committee,
The Minnesota Chippewa Tribe,
Cass Lake, Minn.

Dear Mr. Wilson:

Inasmuch as none of the other officers of the National Congress of American Indians can be present to make Convention arrangements in St. Paul, this is to request that you and Mr. Savage act in my behalf in making the arrangements outlined below:

1. Contact Mr. Jerle Leirfallon, of the Governors office and the Governors' Interstate Indian Council to determine if he has made arrangements with the Chamber of Commerce to have them supply, without charge, badges, two typewriters, and one registration clerk. Members of our Registration Committee will be present to work on the registration. Mr. Leirfallon was very gracious in his offer to help us and I am sure the three of you can make all the arrangements necessary. We should like to have the registration tables set up in an accessible space in the hotel lobby.

2. Determine whether the Chamber of Commerce will assume the costs of printing the Convention Program, which will not be an elaborate one, and in the amount of 350 or 400 copies. If they indicate an interest, Mr Robert L. Bennett will write you further in this connection.

3. Determine if we can have meeting places in the Lowry Hotel for the general sessions and for committee meetings, without charge. If we cannot have these without charge in the hotel, will you find out what the hotel charges will be and what other places are available? I am sure you will agree with me that it is preferable to have the meetings in the hotel if possible. We have never had more than 300 in attendance, usually around 190.

4. Obtain Chamber of Commerce material on items of interest in St. Paul, for distribution at the registration desk to all NCAI members attending the Convention.
