Mrs. Helen Peterson.
Washington D.C.

Dear Miss Helen:

Just received your letter of I3 inst. and note your efforts and accomplishments with regard to the Convention, I heartily approve them and think you are doing a heck of a good job considering the time element etc.

I am planning on meeting you in Carson City Nev. on Oct. 25 or 26, I too expect several members of the Executive Committee there, we can then size up the situation and if I can get some one to look after the stock while I'm away I might be able to spend two or three days in the field with you and Mrs Roe Cloud, I think, that it would be time well spent if you and Mrs Roe Cloud could visit some of the Tribes and interest them in NCAI, but time is so short and you have so many responsibilities, it is up to you to decide these factors, how ever a few letters might surfice.

I am glad you are going to New York to attend the Arrow Board meeting, I have never known any thing about the Arrow but what I saw and heard while in New York last June I can not help but think that NCAI should divorce the Arrow and go it alone, I hope you find out more about the Arrow than I have been able to do, their purpose, and intentions and let me know your candid opinion.

The following are the names suggested by you and D'Arcy over the phone from Denver to serve on Convention Committee, Rex Curry. C.C. Victory, Edison Ward, Joe Garry, Lee Hubbard, [[strikethrough]]Bob Bennett [[/strikethrough]] John Baker, [[strikethrough]] Frank George [[/strikethrough]], Mrs. Koyake [[strikethrough]] Kahze [[/strikethrough]] Kazhe , (?) D'Arcy McNickles, Helen Peterson.

I think it is very important that we give notices and get all publicity possible as soon as the dates and Convention place are decided upon, I am uneasy that Franke George and Roubideaux intend to stir up trouble at the next Convention but I have hopes and believe that Dan Madrano has enough influence with these boys that he can and will hold them down for Dan is smart enough to realize that if a ruckus is started that the spot light will be upon him and not upon Frank and Roubideaux with this reason I hope our Convention will be successful and we can build back NCAI stronger than ever, we have an opportunity to work with this new Administration and the Congress, the Administration and Congress are in sympathy with the Indian people and their problems and they will cooperate with the NCAI if we properly and honestly present the
